Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I want to share my adventures in travel and food.  Hope you will enjoy it!!

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

I've been to Cabo a few times since it's an easy direct flight from Los Angeles.  The first time I stayed at Casa Dorado, which was nice and clean, but it seemed to be open to cruise passengers who were stopping at port.  Not to mention lots of noisy kids splashing in the pool.  MEH.

Next time, we ponied up for an all-inclusive stay at Pueblo Bonito Pacifica Resort and Spa.  This is one resort out of a network of hotels in the area that all offer the all-inclusive option.  Pacifica is the nicest out of them, mainly because it is adults only!!  I wanted a vacation where I could relax and read a book poolside all day.  The resort had a number of pools and plenty of chairs.  I really loved how one pool had a slight decline so you could easily walk in or even just lay half in, half out of the water.

You also have the option to grab beach chairs on the sandy beach.  Just keep in mind you really can't go in the water if you want to cool off.  The waves crash on the sand pretty hard and you'll eat it if you do.

Another option on the sand is to rent a beach bed.  These were heavenly!  You're on a queen sized bed covered in a sheet with sheer, white float-y curtains.  Some of these beds are held up by ropes so it has more of a swing to it.  If you get motion sickness, opt for the stationery beds.

While I went with the all-inclusive option, you can choose to vacay a la carte.  I was a bit dismayed that their pina colada option included a creamer already mixed in.  If you love pina coladas on vacation, but can't have dairy, you are out of luck here.  I can say their nachos are perfect.  You may wonder how I eat nachos when I don't eat dairy and maybe now you'll tell me cheeseless nachos aren't nachos.  For me, they hit the spot each day.

You do have options to upgrade your food and eat at other restaurants offsite.  There is a shuttle that goes around to these properties so you just need to pay attention to the schedule.  If you go, you must eat at Quivira Steakhouse, which is right on the water and delicious.

I stayed here for five days and felt so relaxed.  The staff was lovely; everyone was helpful and polite.  And during check-in, you get a glass of champagne!
